With this smart indoor garden you grow basil, lettuce, parsley, mint, seedlings or microgreens right in your kitchen \u2013 in the middle of winter and even in a spot with no daylight at all. The system combines hydroponics and regular potting soil in one unit, has its own 24 watt full spectrum LED grow light and a self-watering reservoir with water level indicator. Sowing, germinating, growing and harvesting all happen in the same unit.<\/p>\n
The growing tray has four separate planting pods. Fill them with growing medium and nutrient solution for hydroponics, or simply with potting soil. That makes this kit far more versatile than a standard hydroponic box: germinate on water, grow on in soil, or do both at once in different pods. Because each pod is separate, you can grow four different varieties side by side without the roots tangling.<\/p>\n
The built-in LED bar delivers a complete light spectrum with a high PPFD value, replacing sunlight. Plants grow compact and sturdy instead of stretching towards the window. The light sits on an adjustable stand: set it low for seedlings and raise it to 49 cm as the plants grow, so the light distance is always right.<\/p>\n
On the control panel you set the timer to 8, 12 or 16 hours of light per day. The cycle then repeats automatically every day, even when you are away. Brightness is adjustable in five steps: low for seedlings, full power for fruiting vegetables. Forgetting to switch the light off is no longer possible.<\/p>\n
The reservoir feeds the plants gradually, so there is no need to water every day. On the side you can see at a glance how much water is left, and the indicator tells you when it needs a refill. A week away is no problem.<\/p>\n
There are cheaper four-pod growing kits. The difference comes down to three things. First the hybrid system: you can also grow in potting soil here, not just on water. That is the difference between raising microgreens and growing a plant all the way to harvest. Second the light output: 24 watts full spectrum with a high PPFD, where entry-level models often sit around 10 to 15 watts \u2013 and plants still stretch. Third the certification: this kit is CE, EMC and LVD approved, which is far from standard on cheap imports.<\/p>\n

No. The full spectrum LED provides the complete light spectrum plants need. The kit therefore works in a windowless room or a dark corner of the kitchen.<\/p>\n
Herbs such as basil, parsley, coriander, mint and chives, leafy greens such as lettuce, rocket and spinach, microgreens, and seedlings for the garden. For tall fruiting crops like tomatoes the height only suits the seedling stage.<\/p>\n
For hydroponics, yes: water alone contains no nutrients. Use a liquid nutrient made for hydroponic growing. When growing in potting soil, the soil usually holds enough nutrients for the first few weeks.<\/p>\n
That depends on the number of plants and their size. The water level indicator shows exactly when a refill is due \u2013 in practice usually every one to two weeks.<\/p>\n
