Plants need light to grow and to transform light energy into sugars. This digital light meter is a professional instrument for measuring illumination and brightness (Lux). It can be used for light intensity measurement in general and is very suitable to measure the illumination of your plants. Measuring function: Illumination and temperature.

1.TURN ON/OFF and BACKLIGHT
-Short press the power button to turn on. After 15 min. of no operation or no data recording the meter will turn off automatically. A symbol appears in the display.
-Long press the power button to turn on. “NO” will appear in the display. In this case the automatic power off mode after 15 min. is switched off. There’s no automatic power off symbol in the display.
-Long press the power button to switch off manually.
-After turning on the meter, short press the power button again to turn on and turn off backlight. In any other mode you can’t turn on/off backlight.
2.DIFFERENCE VALUE (Δ), MAX VALUE (MAX) AND MIN VALUE (MIN)
Please take care of the number in the left upper corner of the display (X10, X100 or X1000). You need to multiply the Lux results in the display by this number (10, 100 or 1000) to calculate the real Lux value.
Press the Mode button to switch between the different modes. After you’ve turned the meter on, the current Lux value will be displayed (symbol lx).
Press the mode button once: the relative illumination will appear (the difference between the highest and the lowest Lux values. (symbol Δ and lx).
Press the mode button again: the highest value will be displayed since you turned the meter on (symbol max).
Press the mode button again: the lowest value will be displayed since you turned the meter on (symbol min).
Press the button again and you’re back in the first mode (lx).
3.DATA RECORDING (REC), DATA READING (READ), DATA DELETING (DEL)
After you’ve turned the meter on long press the mode button to enter the Automatic Data recording mode (REC). Short press the hold/unit button to start data recording. The REC indicator will flash. The bottom of the display shows the number of data groups (max. is 1000) and the top of the display shows the actual illumination reading (lx). Press the hold/unit button again to stop recording.
You can also enter the Manual Data recording mode when you are in REC mode by short press the power button to save the reading manually. Short press the power button again to save the next reading. The bottom of the display shows the number of readings (max. is 67).
Short press the mode button again to enter the Data reading mode (READ), the read indicator will start to flash.
To read the automatic data recording of an individual data group short press the hold/unit button.
To read the average automatic data of more groups long press the hold/unit button.
To read the manual data recording of an individual reading short press the power button.
Short press the mode button again to enter the Data deleting mode (DEL), the del indicator will appear in the display.
To delete automatically recorded data short press the hold/unit button. When the screen shows
“—-“ all data are deleted.
To delete manually recorded data short press the power button. When the screen shows
“—-“ all data are deleted.
Long press the mode button again to turn back in the standard mode.
Press the HOLD button to save the current illumination reading in the display and press the HOLD button again to exit the data holding mode.
5.SETTING OF ILLUMINATION AND TEMPERATURE UNIT
Long press the hold/unit button to enter into unit switch mode, the unit symbols will start to flash.
Now short press the hold/unit button to select your preferences:
Lux-Celsius, Lux-Fahrenheit, Foot Candles-Celsius, or Foot Candles-Fahrenheit. When you’re done long press the hold/unit button to turn back into normal mode.
